When starting out in photography, you might not have access to the best lenses. If you're lucky enough to jump into this with a 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, more power to you. But for the rest of us, we might start from a more humble origin, in the form of kit lenses.

With bigger projects, and more high profile clients, it makes sense to use the right tools to get the job done. As I've started to plan out my different jobs for the first half of the year, improving the quality of my production equipment is something that has been on my mind. 

Earlier this year, I had the awesome pleasure of getting to shoot a Kickstarter video for Maryland Meadworks, a new meadery opening up in my hometown of Hyattsville, MD. Owned by Ken Carter, MMW is tapping into the growing hotspot that is Hyattsville.

As more and more devices display content in 4K and HDR content, putting out content in those formats helps it stick out against the rest of the pack. My current kit is heavy and only outputs video in 1080p.
