2018 has been a long year, what feels like eons. I've spent a lot of this year here, in Seattle, working on various projects for clients across the country. A few projects that I had the pleasure of working on provided a lot of lessons. to take into 2019. Here are some of my favorite ones.

Much of my time shooting editorial content is spent in urban environments, either in a studio or out on the streets. While I highly enjoy spending time in those places, it can lead to stagnation. So this past weekend, I escaped from Seattle to head out to Snoqualmie Pass to shoot with Jessica. Learned a good bit while shooting out there that you can takeaway with you.

The 2018 iPad Pro could be part of a modern two piece power combo for photographers and video editors who need to shoot, edit, and deliver content in real-time in a away that might be harder in a form factor like a dedicated laptop.

I just got back from New Orleans this weekend, and I’m still recovering, but it was an amazing experience. For my first time being down south and in that city, it felt like places traversed before and completely new. Streetcars on Canal St framed by palm trees just outside the French Quarter. Lush and humid, the city was bursting with character that provided plenty of inspiration to capture.

Last night here in Seattle, Sony held a community event, inviting the photography community at large to come, have fun, try out various Sony Alpha bodies and lenses, and shoot different subjects in different scenarios while mingling over cocktails and color science.
